High-Impact Industry
ORNX is developing a large-scale low-cost hydrogen plant in Morocco, designed to produce highly competitive lowest-cost hydrogen using dedicated wind and solar assets.
These power generation facilities will enable the production of hydrogen, which can be used to decarbonize hard-to-abate industries, or combined with other gases to produce green ammonia or synthetic fuels—such as methanol and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)—through proven industrial processes. The platform also integrates an industrial complex for processing and storage.
The company will leverage both vertical and horizontal integration opportunities across power generation, hydrogen and ammonia production, and associated port and shipping infrastructure within Morocco.
Our
Project
ORNX Low-Cost Hydrogen Platform comprises three green electricity-generating sites located in the Southern Moroccan desert near Boujdour, Dakhla and Laayoune and one site dedicated to storage and industrial processes near the Port of Laayoune.
These sites are located on land where there is currently no residential, economic, agricultural or recreation activities.
